You’re needed. If you’ve been served by Mars Hill, whether it be through greeters on Sundays, teachers in you child’s Mars Hill Kids classroom, enjoying a cup of coffee or tea before service, clean bathrooms stocked with toiletries, security who keep our kids and worship environment safe, musicians on stage leading us in worship, or any number of other ways—chances are you’ve been served by a faithful volunteer giving up time and talent to serve Jesus by serving you. At Mars Hill, we intentionally keep our budget and staff small and rely on a huge community of volunteers who love Jesus and love to serve his church. And we’re always in need for more help. If you consider Mars Hill Downtown Seattle your church, we ask you to serve as a volunteer.

One of the most important things we do as a church is gather on the weekends to worship Jesus. Many volunteers are needed to make this experience enjoyable and hospitable to our guests. The following teams fall under this category: Greeting/Ushering, Security, Hospitality, Parking Concierge, Communion & Offering, Financial Stewardship, Connect Desk, and Bookstore.

At Mars Hill Kids, our mission is simple: we want children to come to know Jesus, and become disciples who reproduce themselves – making disciples who make disciples.

The creative team works so that the  gospel can be seen and heard clearly throughout Seattle and the world. This is done through music, video, photography, fine art, and the written word. The production team works to ensure that the gospel is seen clearly during our weekend services and special events. To that end, the production team uses lighting, audio, and video in a creative way to point to the gospel of Jesus. The communication team publishes stories of God’s grace and keeps the community informed. Finally, the bands use music to point to the glory of Jesus. In our weekend services, we call people to respond in singing to Jesus. God initiates and we respond.

Community Group leaders are called to be the following: Shepherd: Care for and lead community groups toward growth as disciples of Jesus, Missiologist: Lead groups in the mission of Jesus, Administrator: Organize and plan so that each individual group functions well.

The Facilities Team exists to create a distraction-free environment where people can meet and worship Jesus. At one point in history the church set the standard for all things, music, literature, art and architecture. We are seeking to set that standard once again by the environment we create to the glory of God.
